Mumbai Port invites bids for a 604-yacht marina at Victoria Dock
Mumbai Port Authority has opened domestic and international bidding for a full-service marina and waterfront at Victoria Dock, on a 45-year design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) concession. The estimated cost is Rs 922.67 crore. The basin has 37.3 ha of protected water and is planned for 604 yachts at full build-out, with 424 berths in Phase I. The port authority is building the marine works itself: a piled breakwater with an approach trestle of about 150 m, six piled service platforms, floating pontoons with gangways, and capital dredging. Environmental and CRZ clearances are in place. The concessionaire will build the landside facilities, expand berthing beyond Phase I and run the marina before handing it back. Bids are due on 15 December 2026; the bidder offering the highest share of gross revenue to the port will be preferred. Engineering note: a piled breakwater stands on piles and screens only part of the water depth, so it cuts wave height inside the basin while still letting water exchange with the harbour.
