Sources, corrections and licence policy

Sources

Facts are taken from official publications: ministry and state releases, project authority pages, and published standards. News reports are used only as leads. Multiple copies of one release count as one source.

Indian Standards

The copyright in Indian Standards belongs to BIS under the BIS Act, 2016. We cite the standard and clause number and explain the requirement in our own words. We do not reproduce clause text, tables, figures or page images. Buy the standards from BIS for the exact wording.

Images

This site uses no photographs. Videos credit each still with its source and licence in the YouTube description; where a photo is not of the actual site it is labelled "Representative photo". Maps of India follow official Survey of India boundaries.

Corrections

If something is wrong, leave a comment on the video on YouTube. We correct the description, or remove the video and publish a corrected version, and note the change here.

Licence

Text on this site © 2026 Indiacon. You may quote short extracts with a link back. Videos remain on YouTube under YouTube's standard licence.

Privacy

No cookies, analytics, trackers or ads. Links to YouTube take you to YouTube's own site.

How we cite

Every topic page and subject hub ends with "References and further reading". We cite standard textbooks by author, title, publisher and edition or year only. We never copy text, figures, tables or solved problems from any book; all explanations, diagrams, examples and quizzes on this site are written by Indiacon.

We link only to legal sources: publishers' pages, NPTEL courses, openly licensed textbooks, and official manuals and portals such as IRC, CPWD, CPHEEO, CWC and RDSO. We never link pirated copies or unofficial download sites. There are no affiliate links, and books and standards are listed, not ranked.

Design codes from any country are cited by designation and clause number with a summary in our own words. Withdrawn codes are marked historical.
